adidas Frequently Asked Questions

Yes, the adidas Goletto IX Firm/Multi-Ground Cleats Kids runs true to size in most cases. However, since this is a low-cut lace-up design, you may want to size down by half a size if your child has a narrow foot or prefers a snug fit around the midfoot. Always measure your child's foot length and compare it to adidas's official sizing chart, as kids' feet grow quickly and proper fit is essential for cleat performance.
The adidas Goletto IX has a relatively short break-in period of 1-2 weeks, thanks to its synthetic upper and minimal padding design. The low-cut collar and lightweight construction mean less material to soften, though some kids may experience minor heel rubbing initially. We recommend wearing them for short practice sessions first before using them in competitive matches to allow the synthetic upper to mold to your child's foot shape.
The adidas Goletto IX Firm/Multi-Ground Cleats Kids are designed specifically for soccer performance on firm and multi-ground surfaces, not for all-day casual wear. The molded stud plate provides direct ground feel and minimal cushioning, which is ideal for ball control and agility on the pitch but not comfortable for extended off-field use. These cleats are best reserved for training sessions and matches rather than wearing them to school or for everyday activities.
The adidas Goletto IX features a molded multi-ground stud plate that performs well on both firm natural grass and slightly softer or artificial surfaces, making it more versatile than pure firm-ground studs. This design is ideal for kids who play on different field conditions throughout the season, though it won't match the performance of specialized soft-ground or artificial grass cleats on those specific surfaces. The multi-ground studs offer a good balance for training and recreational play across varying pitch conditions.
The synthetic upper on the adidas Goletto IX is durable and designed to withstand regular youth soccer use, resisting tears and scuffs better than leather alternatives. However, synthetic materials can show wear marks and discoloration over time with heavy use, especially on the toe box area. Proper cleaning and storage will extend the lifespan, and the low-cut design means less material to maintain compared to mid-cut or high-top cleats.
Clean the adidas Goletto IX after each use by gently wiping the synthetic upper with a damp cloth and removing excess mud from the stud plate with a soft brush or cloth. Allow them to air dry naturally away from direct heat or sunlight, as high heat can damage the synthetic material and glued components. Store them in a cool, dry place, and avoid leaving them in damp conditions to prevent mold growth and material degradation.
The adidas Goletto IX is an entry-level to training-focused cleat with a lightweight, minimalist design and direct stud-plate feel, while Nike Phantom and Puma Future models often feature more cushioning and advanced upper technologies for elite performance. The Goletto IX is ideal for kids just starting out or those prioritizing affordability and simplicity, whereas the Nike and Puma alternatives target more serious or competitive young players. All three offer firm/multi-ground options, but the Goletto IX stands out for its no-frills approach and lightweight construction.
The adidas Goletto IX Firm/Multi-Ground Cleats Kids is offered in standard youth sizing without specific wide or narrow width variants. If your child has a wider foot, you may need to size up slightly, though this could affect the fit around the heel and midfoot; conversely, children with narrow feet might prefer sizing down half a size. We recommend trying on multiple sizes or consulting adidas customer service if your child falls outside the standard width range.
Some users report that the low-cut collar can cause minor heel slipping during the break-in period, particularly if the laces aren't tied tightly enough. The minimal cushioning means the cleat plate can feel firm underfoot initially, though this is by design for better ground feel and ball control. Occasionally, the synthetic upper may crease or show wear marks earlier than expected with heavy use, but these are cosmetic issues that don't affect performance.
The adidas Goletto IX Firm/Multi-Ground Cleats Kids is available in the Core Black colorway with bright pink adidas 3-Stripes accents, as shown in the product listing. Additional colorway options may be available depending on the season and retailer, though availability varies by region and stock levels. Check with authorized adidas retailers or the official adidas website for current colorway options and any limited-edition releases.
