ShoesTrace Methodology
Last updated: March 24, 2026
1. What ShoesTrace does
ShoesTrace is an independent shoe discovery and price intelligence site. We do not sell shoes directly. We collect product and pricing data from official retailer pages, organize it into a searchable catalogue, and publish AI-assisted analysis to help shoppers evaluate fit, use case, value, and price context.
2. Product and price data sources
- Product names, images, prices, and availability are sourced from official retailer or brand product pages.
- We prioritize official sources over marketplaces or third-party resellers.
- Price history is based on prices we observed and stored over time. It is not a retailer-provided benchmark.
3. How often data updates
- Catalog and price data are refreshed on a recurring schedule.
- Sitemaps and major landing pages are updated as inventory, prices, and content change.
- Because retailer pages can change at any time, a listed price or availability snapshot may occasionally lag the live retailer page.
4. How AI-assisted analysis works
ShoesTrace uses multiple AI models to generate structured analysis from product attributes, retailer descriptions, historical price context, and comparison data. These systems help summarize likely strengths, trade-offs, and use cases, but they do not replace hands-on wear testing.
- Performance analysis focuses on cushioning, stability, support, and intended activity.
- Value analysis compares current price to historical context and competing products.
- Style analysis focuses on versatility, silhouette, and outfit context.
5. What our analysis is not
- It is not medical advice, podiatry advice, or a replacement for professional gait assessment.
- It is not a guarantee that a shoe will fit every foot shape or body type.
- It is not a substitute for brand sizing charts, return policies, or in-person try-on where available.
6. Editorial checks and limitations
We review outputs for consistency and obvious factual issues, but AI-assisted content can still be incomplete or imperfect. When we identify a problem, we update the page, adjust the underlying prompt or data logic, and correct the published content.
7. How to use ShoesTrace responsibly
Use ShoesTrace to narrow options, compare prices, and understand likely trade-offs. Before purchase, confirm the final live price, sizing, availability, and retailer policy on the retailer’s own page.
8. Corrections and feedback
If you spot incorrect product data, pricing issues, or misleading analysis, email [email protected]. We review correction requests and update the relevant page when warranted.
