ShoesTrace (shoestrace.com) is an independent AI-powered shoe search and price intelligence platform. We are not affiliated with any shoe brand or retailer.

2. Information We Collect

• Email address — only if you voluntarily subscribe to price drop alerts.
• Search queries — anonymised and used solely to return results and improve search quality. Queries are not linked to any individual.
• Session cookies — short-lived, used to maintain your session and apply per-session rate limits. No cross-site tracking.
• Aggregate analytics — page views and click counts without personal identifiers.

We do not collect names, addresses, payment information, or precise location data.

3. ChatGPT / AI Plugin Usage

ShoesTrace offers a Custom GPT Action via the OpenAI ChatGPT platform. When you interact with ShoesAI by ShoesTrace through ChatGPT:

• Your search queries are sent to the ShoesTrace API to retrieve shoe and price data.
• We do not receive your OpenAI account information, name, or any personal identifier.
• Query strings are processed in real time and are not stored in association with any individual user.
• Aggregate, non-identifiable query patterns may be used to improve search relevance.

Use of ChatGPT itself is subject to OpenAI's Privacy Policy.

4. How We Use Information

• To return shoe search results and price data.
• To send price drop email alerts (email subscribers only).
• To detect and prevent abuse via rate limiting.
• To improve our AI search quality using anonymised query logs.

We do not sell, rent, or share personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

5. Data Retention

• Email addresses are retained until you unsubscribe. Each alert email contains a one-click unsubscribe link.
• Anonymised query logs are retained for up to 90 days for search quality analysis, then deleted.
• Session cookies expire within 2 hours of inactivity.

6. Third-Party Links

Search results link to external retailer websites (Nike.com, Adidas.com, etc.). Once you leave ShoesTrace, those sites' own privacy policies apply. We are not responsible for their data practices.

7. Cookies

We use only functional, first-party cookies necessary to operate the service (session management and rate limiting). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

8. Your Rights

You may request deletion of any personal data we hold (e.g. your email address) at any time by emailing [email protected]. We will action all requests within 30 days.

9. Children's Privacy

ShoesTrace is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
